Hopes India’s Relief Covid-19 Project

Hopes India is carrying out a relief project of distributing ration and supplies to the worst-affected and poor amidst the global Covid-19 pandemic. Our NPO has been relentlessly working to distribute ration kits in and around Mumbai, including areas like Govandi, Cheeta Camp, Wadala, Malad, Parel, Dongri, Mumbadevi, Mumbra and Kausa in an attempt to help vulnerable sections of society survive this time of economic depression.

The project was launched to help people overcome repercussions of the pandemic. 10,000 food and ration kits (equivalent to 20 meals per package, that totals up to over 20,000 meals) have been distributed till date.

Ration kits consist of essential provisions like polished full grain rice, pulses, masalas, poha, rava, besan, sevai, oil, whole wheat aata, salt, sugar and tea that would help families to cope with these testing times. Separate special kits are also made for larger families.

About the Founder

Founder of Hopes India, Mr Rehan Dhorajiwala said, “Although we acknowledge the importance of the lockdown as being an instrumental means through which we can overcome Covid-19, our key aim is to ease the pain caused by it. The lockdown has resulted in an unprecedented economic loss in society. We are, therefore, committed to executing our operations of distributing kits daily till the lockdown gets lifted.”
